The local church is vital to the success of Campus Ministries.
Chaplains can be an extension of the local church, supported by prayer and finances. Chaplains are called to serve student and staff, offer opportunities for dialogue and debate, provide a safe place to explore faith, and create links to local churches.
Chaplaincy is all about working with the church:
+ Chaplains can be an extension of the local church, supported by prayer and finances.
+ Chaplains connect students to local churches.
+ Chaplains are key contacts for parents of out-of-town students.
+ Chaplains are on-campus witnesses to an international student body.
"I think that it is vital that pastors and churches invest in college campuses." Goodbye Generation - David Sawler
How much is your church investing in local campus ministries? Consider making your local campus chaplain part of your monthly missions commitment.
We are building a music team. We're also looking for a persons who sense a call to be part of a ministry and worship band for young adult ministry that will take place right on campus...if you have the skill set for this area of ministry, if you have sound/production experience, and you've been sensing God's pull, and if you can commit to a one-year term, give the executive director a call or send an email.
We've got room for people who love to organize special events and activities for students. You love bringing people together because you know that activities serve to build relationship and throw in a little fun into a pressure-packed education. Speak to the chaplain and let him know you really want to get involved!
